Publix

. . . where shopping is a pleasure.
And you get to "steer" the grocery cart.

Countdown to the Princess Party

"Someday my prince will come,
Someday we'll meet again
And away to his castle we'll go..."   -Snow White
{But for now my little brother will have to do.}
She has told me everyday that it's her birfdayy Mommy.  Almost my princess, almost.

8 Months Old, Part 2

Forgot to add these to the original post, so here you go.
This is the one and only moment of the day when he sat still.
Mr. Active kept trying to eat, kiss, or climb over Mr. Giraffe.
Hey Mom. Here I am.
Looking all innocent and sweet.
Because he is innocent and sweet.
McClain, you are thriving in every sense of the word.  You are crawling, sitting up on your own, climbing over anything in your path, pulling up to standing, and teething like crazy.   While no pearly whites have popped through yet, I hope some relief is in sight.  You drooly thing you.
Happy 8 (& a half) months Super Buddy.
Keep the cuteness coming.

Wednesdays With Aunt Marian

Our family has been so blessed by one special lady.
My Aunt Marian has given up her Wednesday evenings to come and spend time taking care of Lucy Mills and McClain.  She loves them and they love her.  (And mommy and daddy love a night out!)
With Aunt Marian's help, Travis and I have been able to enjoy a midweek date, or be involved in church activities, or simply go for a walk together and enjoy each other's company - minus the double stroller in tow. Thank you for loving our family Aunt Marian!
I was digging through some pictures from Lucy Mills' birthday party last year (since I am days away from her next party!!!) and I found a picture of Aunt Marian that I absolutely love.  That is her in the mirror's reflection after we just revealed that baby #2 was a boy.  I love her excitement!
I wish every family was lucky enough to have an Aunt Marian.  My kids certainly look up to her.
We love you Aunt Marian.

Life Lately

Clearly blogging has not been my strength this past month.  When I get behind editing and organizing my pictures, I don't want to take the time to catch up.  Kinda like when the laundry piles up too.
It's been so darn hot that we have been in the AC a good bit, which means not a lot of exciting pictures to post.
Unless you count making fruit smoothies with Daddy?
Nothin' beats slurping down a morning shake in your jammies.
Although Daddy does make a pretty cool fort . . . with flashlights, books, baby dolls and all.
I am starting to worry that if something happens to me, the children will not remember me because Travis is the "fun parent" and in all the photographs.  Just remind them someone had to take all these pictures. : )
We are a little over a week away from having a two year old on our hands.
We are getting ready for her Princess Party, since our sweet girl is such a . . . well, princess.
Ok, now that we have updated the blog, my helper and I need to tackle those laundry piles.

8 Months Old

Our eight month old is such an affectionate little thing,
charming some of his favorite ladies,
with his good looks and giggles.
I have had several mamas comment on what a flirt my little man is.  Wowsa.
He is a mover and a shaker - full on crawling nowadays.
When he is not getting into everything, I find him under everything.
He has also been pulling up to his knees to get a better look at things.
And even standing up now and again.
Geez, boys are way more physical than little girls.  But they are so darn cute they can get away with murder.
McClain, this has been the month I have seen the most growth in you.  You are one amazing little fella for sure.

23 Months

We have officially entered your birthday month sweet girl and the countdown to "2" is on. Lately I have found myself thinking back to the when you were born and the days that followed.  I think it's safe to say that those were the sweetest of all my days.  My entire life I wanted nothing more than to be a mom, to have at least one little girl, and to name her after my mom.

I remember when I first laid eyes on you.  It was as if an angel just entered the room.  Magical really.
I remember that I never loved your daddy more than when I saw the love and protection he showed towards you.

You stayed in the Special Care Nursery for six days.  In the midst of the monitors chirping, the alarms ringing, and the wires surrounding you, there was a peace that abounded that I had never felt before.  Your daddy and I would race down that hospital hallway to see you, rock you, feed you, and just soak up every minute with our brand new bundle.  Even when I was discharged and sent home without you, we would set our alarm clocks for 4:30am to be back in time for the 5am feeding.

Lucy Mills Mason, you are a delight.  While motherhood is not easy or perfect, it comes with messes and mistakes,  and it leaves me feeling more physically and emotionally exhausted than I ever thought possible, I would not trade it for the world.  When you give me a hug, kiss, squeeze, or say I love you Mama I thank God for placing us together as mommy and daughter.  When I see you rock Babydoll back and forth while singing your high pitched, but precious version of Jesus Loves Me, I can't help but think about what an amazing journey the last 23 months have been.
