Shrimp & Grits Y'all

Last week I hosted my first "Shrimp and Grits" trunk show and it was a success! When I was in college I worked at a children's clothing shop and I have always LOVED the hand smocked outfits that usually southern children wear. For a time I even contemplated opening up my own store, but I know that is a huge undertaking and probably a very difficult thing at the end of the day for someone who wants to be a stay at home mom. Back in the fall I came across the S&G Kids clothing line. I was immediately attracted to the precious clothes and started buying some for Lucy Mills. The prices were not quite as steep as the boutique stores' prices and I soon discovered that the owner is a SC native, stay at home mom turned entrepreneur. I thought I would give hosting trunk shows in my home a try. I loved the experience and am already excited about the upcoming fall and winter show! I want to say a big thank you to my friends and family members who shopped and supported me this past week.

My mom was a HUGE help. She has an eye for decorating and helped me arrange everything so that it really showed well. And of course she kept Lucy Mills occupied which made it easier for me to focus.
And my sweet husband - thank you for allowing our house to look like a closet for a couple of days. I may have fallen off my "wifely duties" this week...I did not have time to go to the grocery store or cook dinners. Finally by Thursday evening he returned home from Publix with bags full of nutritious goodies to munch on...
Healthy meals are on the horizon for this week!
Here are some of the clothes...
I asked Travis if we ever have a boy, would he let me dress him in this stuff?
He replied "hmm...maybe until he's two, but nothing in aqua." We'll see...

That's all y'all!
