30...yikes!

So I turned 29 again this year.  Just kidding.  But really, I cannot believe that my twenties are now just a memory.  While those years held a lot of ups and downs, they also held the greatest moments of my life.  {So far}.
I met, fell in love, and married my husband. And then I became a mom to my two little miracles.

My 30th birthday celebration was so memorable.  Suggie came to keep the babies, while Travis whisked me away for a weekend out of town.  Which, as it turns out,  was just what I needed after being pregnant for the better part of two years, being on bed rest with both children, and suffering through some pretty wild health scares.

"Um...you're going where Mom? And without me?"

I don't think McClain missed us too much.  He pretty much just did his usual...

We had the. best. time.
Travis put so much effort into making this birthday so fun and so memorable for me.  It started off with Travis keeping the baby the night before we left so that I could get a good night's rest.  {He earned big points with that one}.  The next morning we escaped to our favorite hotel in Charlotte, which is nearby our new favorite place to dine.  If you've never eaten at The Palm restaurant you need to.  We could not even get a reservation except for at 4:30 in the afternoon! After rolling my eyes over that idea, Travis reminded me that we normally eat at 5ish at home with the kids anyway.  True.
So we got all fancied up {which I almost forgot how to do!} and made our way to eat with the other early birds.  And we did not get up from that dinner table for hours!  Not only was the food amazing...

but the company was even better.

I guess getting out of town and out of mommy mode allowed me to remember that first and foremost I am this amazing man's wife.  And he is pretty fun to be around.

We both agreed that on that dinner date we felt like it did when we were dating.

What else could I wish for on my birthday?

With all hopes of sleeping late the next morning, we both woke up before 7:30am. I guess I didn't travel far enough away to get fully out of mommy mode.
But it was nice to go grab coffee, breakfast, and go for a walk without having to "load up." We shopped til we dropped all day.  It wasn't long before we started missing two little monkeys so we figured it was time to go relieve Suggie.

I have to say that my thirties are off to a wonderful start!
