Turkey Day Highlights

We spent a relaxing Thanksgiving at Suggie's house this year.   These two little turkeys were so much fun to be with.
They even enjoyed playing with each other.
And being silly for the camera.
Maybe soon I can get them looking at the same time?
Or at least smiling at the same time.
We attempted some family pictures but that went south pretty quick.  Not sure what Maggie and McClain were looking at, or why Lucy Mills was sticking out her tongue.
Even though we didn't get the perfect picture, we still have so much to be thankful for, starting with each other.
And Aunt Marian and her family.  McClain sure loves being with her.
And Lucy Mills loved chowing down on her mac and cheese.
This guy got passed around from one lady to the next . . . and he is not complaining one bit!
Time with cousin Kimmie.
Susan came showing off Sophie girl (and her own new short locks).
We had such a great Thanksgiving Day.  Thank you Suggie for hosting such a lovely time and sending us on our way with full bellies and hearts.
Now on to celebrate the season of lights.

So Thankful

for these sweet babies.
More Turkey Day pictures to come as soon as the tryptophan wears off.

Really????

Really . . . this baby turns one next month?
How can my sweet boy be growing up so fast?
With his touchdown arms, the first of several teeth popping through, and standing on his own, this little guy is showing all the signs that he is ready to turn O-N-E.
McClain is most entertained when his best buddy is near by.
Together, they can joy ride all day long.
Along with loving his sis, he is pretty passionate about crackers.  Graham, Saltines, Ritz - you name it.  In fact, we believe he has even started saying the word cracker.  While I am still waiting to hear mama, cracker seems to be the word of choice.  Aside from crackers, this stinker sure loves spaghetti night.
McClain, I just want to bottle you up and keep a little piece of your 11 month old self to always have.
Love you buddy.

Zoo Trip

The weekend following Lucy Mills' eye surgery, we decided that a trip to the zoo would be a perfect way to spend a day after being cooped up inside.  There is only so much video watching . . .
and princess tent playing . . .
that these two can handle.  So off to Riverbanks we went - and with the beautiful fall weather, it seemed to be just what the doctor ordered.  Remember our last trip there?
:: Um, Daddy this ones not real, right? ::
:: Mommy and McClain - and the elephants ::
:: Hey Mr. Giraffe ::
There is an area where you can feed the giraffes and Lucy Mills walked herself right up to do just that.
Small child + large animal = nervous mama.
But the giraffe must have done this a few times because he ate the lettuce right out of my sweet girl's hands.  I'm not sure who was more excited, Lucy Mills or me?
:: Round two ::
She also enjoyed walking through the barn to milk the cow.
Lucy Mills was such a trooper all weekend recovering from her surgery.  She loved being at the zoo and Daddy bought her a little sucker to occupy her so she wouldn't rub her eyes.
Here we are, sucker in hand, watching the howling monkeys.  Those guys were loud! See him swinging over there?
By the end of our zoo adventure Daddy was ready for me to stop taking pictures, Lucy Mills wanted a nap, and McClain wanted her sucker.
We really did have the best day together.
