April Beach Trip and Lucy Mills finishes Classical Conversations!

Exactly three years ago from when this picture was taken, we headed back down to our favorite family getaway spot.

Here they stand this year - ages 5 and 4.

We love waking up at the beach!

One of the beauties of homeschooling is that I'm in charge of our school days, and our school breaks! Usually at the first hint of spring we all get the itch for a beach getaway.  The blue sky and warm sunshine are a welcome change from cold winters.

The water feels like ice water but that doesn't stop Lucy Mills and McClain from putting on their bathing suits and making the most of a beautiful beach day.

We had fun celebrating Daddy's birthday at the beach for a long weekend.

When we came back home for Lucy Mills' end of the year gathering for Classical Conversations.  It was a great night for families come see our students present on the topics they learned throughout the year.

Waving at her family.

We are blessed with a great group of kids! These families make homeschooling so encouraging and fun.

Here is Lucy Mills' class - protesting about their latin articles :)

Suggie came to support us!

Classical Conversations has been such a blessing to our family.  We are already enjoying our second year with the program!

More Scenes from Spring

The kids at soccer practice.
First soccer game - all in with Coach Fitts and Daddy.

Lucy Mills dominated at soccer.  She does great running the ball up and down the field and McClain loves to be the "guard dog" and keep the other teams ball out of our goal. Our Saturday mornings were filled with soccer games and family lunches out somewhere - kids' pick.

Five Guys with Daddy is the best.

Love this cutie soccer player.

My loves.

 Celebrating Suggie's birthday.

Lucy Mills' Classical Conversations class with Mrs. Carrie.

My friend Cortney and I went to Greenville for a homeschooling conference.  We got to meet the wonderful Heidi St. John.  So encouraging for us mommas.

Back at the soccer field.  We loved having PopPop come to our games.

And getting frozen yogurt afterwards!

Straight chillin'.

Love catching moments like this...big sister reading to little brother.

Our gorgeous and fashionable Aunt Tutu modeling at Charleston's fashion week.

Finding critters at the park with Sarah Anne.

Cute bird charmer at the zoo.

We love the book store.

The Easter bunny brought us our very own playground - as the kids say. So much fun.

Easter pictures.

We love Mrs. Carrie.

McClain at his preschool storybook parade.  He dressed as the lion from The Wizard of Oz.

Celebrating Daddy's birthday at the Melting Pot.

My lion on the left, and Lucy Mills dressed for Pioneer Day at Classical Conversations. Such a sweet little Laura Ingalls.

Scenes From Life

I will not quit this blog.
I will not quit this blog.
I will not quit this blog.

Lets pick up where we left off...gulp...in February.

The day we returned home from the Disney cruise, Lucy Mills lost her first tooth.

None appeared to be loose but she bit into an apple that night and it popped right out.

Field trippin' it to the zoo with the Fowlers.

Saying hi to the Kamono Dragon.

Are you lookin' at me?

Feeding the giraffes.

Feeding the birds can get a little crazy!

Love our days together!
